Palliative Care Week 2026
For Palliative Care Week (10–16 May) we’re recognising the incredible teams providing accessible, holistic and culturally safe palliative care to country communities is at the heart of our organisation.
Palliative Care Week aims to raise awareness and start conversations, while advocating for better access to and acceptance of palliative and end-of-life care.
This year’s campaign is supported by three themes:
- Living well, your way – focusing on comfort, quality of life, and staying connected to what matters.
- Conversation changes everything – showing how starting the conversation can reduce uncertainty and support better planning and care,
- The heart of care – highlighting care that feels personal, safe and respectful for individuals and families.
During Palliative Care Week 2025, Palliative Care Services launched new regionally inspired brochures that are available for access.
The Pilbara Palliative Care Project team was recognised last year for their efforts, where they were honoured with the Achievement in Palliative Care for Aboriginal Communities Award.
You can read through the WA Country Health Service Palliative and End-of-Life Care Strategy 2024-28 for more information, also published during last year’s Palliative Care Week.
We extend thanks to our palliative care teams for the important work they do in end-of-life care.
