Achievement unlocked – Auxiliary raises over $2 million dollars for Geraldton Hospital
The Geraldton Hospital Auxiliary has proudly announced that over $2 million has been raised and donated to WA Country Health Service’s Geraldton Hospital since 1999.
This impressive achievement speaks to the hard work, commitment and generosity of Auxiliary members through both the customer facing daily operations of the kiosk and their hard work behind the scenes.
Auxiliary members are involved in supporting various health promotion events, enlisting the support of local businesses and organising fundraising events.
The positive outcomes are clearly visible to anyone walking through the public spaces at Geraldton Health Campus, with improvements to the foyer and gardens made in 2024, and investment in equipment and resources to support patient care.
WA Country Health Service District Director - Geraldton Cameron Ross extended his sincere thanks to the Auxiliary for their advocacy and their dedication to the community.
“On behalf of Geraldton Hospital, WA Country Health Service, and the many patients, families, visitors, and staff who benefit from your efforts, thank you,” he said.
“Your dedication over more than seven decades has left a legacy, and your continued support remains an invaluable part of our hospital and community.”
Since forming on 14 February 1952, the Auxiliary has been an important part of the hospital and broader community.
Today, the Auxiliary has 61 members, including 21 Life Members who have each given more than 15 years of service.
31 active members volunteer their time in the hospital kiosk, which operates Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
Looking ahead, the Auxiliary will celebrate 75 years of service in 2027.
“The Auxiliary cannot function without the extraordinary commitment and generosity of its members,” he said.
“Time and again, volunteers step up to ensure the kiosk, fundraising activities and community support continue without interruption.”
