Completed project - Northam Health Service
Project overview
Upgrades at Northam Hospital include a comprehensive and expanded emergency department, which opened on Wednesday 6 February 2019. It provides modern, well-equipped emergency services to the community. The hospital is also the hub for community health services including physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, community health nursing, community mental health and aged care support. Access to these services is in the newly completed Ambulatory Care building.
The refurbishment of the new surgical services area is underway.
A multi-million dollar series of improvements funded by the Commonwealth will also see better cancer and renal services in Northam. The new chemotherapy unit will increase services to six treatment chairs. A satellite Renal Service will be the final unit to be completed in the refurbishment program. Services offered at Northam Health Service will mean some renal patients will not have to travel to Midland for treatment.
