Telehealth offers best practice, patient-centred care 20 June 2018 Neurologist Dr Nick Lawn has used telehealth for his patients from the moment it was available in WA in 2012 and says it allows clinicians to offer the best patient-centred care. The Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital clinician is pleased with the rapid development of telehealth technology in WA, because the benefits for patients were significant. Warren Health Service opening 15 June 2018 The WA Country Health Service’s (WACHS) greatly anticipated, state-of-the-art $37.6 million Warren Health Service is undergoing a staged opening from next week. Works set to commence at Esperance Health Campus 11 June 2018 Residents of Esperance will soon be able to receive renal care closer to home after the WA Country Health service announced a new self-dialysis facility will be developed at Esperance Health Campus. The $3.5 million undertaking is set to commence in June and will see refurbishment of the existing ward to include a self-dialysis facility as well as an upgrade to the nurse call system and a number of other developments. Busselton Health Campus performs first ever knee replacement 31 May 2018 Busselton Health Campus has performed its first ever knee replacement as part of plan to treat selected orthopedic patients closer to home and reduce elective surgery wait times. While patients will have to meet select criteria to have their operation performed in Busselton, the WA Country Health Service is pioneering specialist Telehealth technology that allows surgeons to virtually monitor a patient’s progress.
