Customer service excellence awarded to Midwest team 26 March 2019 The WA Country Health Service Midwest team won the Customer Service Excellence award category at the Australian Institute of Management WA Pinnacle Awards last week. The win recognised the WA Country Health Service for its outstanding achievements in demonstrating leadership and commitment to excellence in customer service through the Midwest’s “Consumer Engagement in the 21st Century” project. Change advocate for rural mental health acknowledged with award 25 March 2019 A clinical leader in mental health has been awarded the Metropolitan-based Specialist Bush Champion of the Year at the 2019 WA Country Doctors’ Awards held over the weekend by Rural Health West and the WA Country Health Service. This award recognises Dr Roland Main has been championing improved access to specialist mental health care for country people and providing psychiatry services across the state since 1992. Doctor’s career is on the rise 25 March 2019 An award-winning young doctor has been recognised as a rising star at the WA Country Doctors’ Awards. Dr Kelly Ridley was recognised as the most outstanding new doctor working in rural Western Australia taking out the top award in the Rising Star category. Geraldton doctor recognised at Country Doctors’ Awards 25 March 2019 A Geraldton-based doctor has received the prestigious Chairmans’ Award at the 2019 WA Country Doctors’ Awards. Dr Ian Taylor from Panaceum was recognised as the most outstanding rural general practitioner providing obstetric and anaesthetic care, receiving the GP Proceduralist of the Year category award and the overall Chairmans’ Award. Moving to Geraldton with his young family in 1984 for ‘a few years’ Dr Taylor still calls the town home. Goldfields doctor takes out medical leadership award 25 March 2019 A long-time Goldfields doctor has won the Medical Leadership category at the WA Country Doctors’ Awards. Dr Clare Huppatz was recognised for her work as the public health physician for the Goldfields, with a passion for driving change and results to create better health outcomes for local communities.
